One of the methods for producing saffron is its hydroponic cultivation system. For this purpose, saffron corms weighing more than 15 grams are selected during their dormancy period in June. The corms are stored from June to early September at a temperature of about 27 degrees Celsius, in bright shade and without humidity, stacked to a height of about 15 centimeters. On September 1st, after treatment with fungicides and miticides, the corms are transferred to the cultivation trays. At this time, the greenhouse should be completely dark, with a temperature of 20 to 23 degrees and about 75% humidity. Starting from September 20th, the window covers are gradually removed and light shade is applied. At this stage, the temperature is 23 degrees Celsius and the humidity is about 75%, which continues until November 1st, during which lateral shoots should be removed. From November 1st, the temperature decreases by 10 degrees (thermal shock), and the humidity reaches about 85%. About 10 days after the thermal shock, flowering begins. After the end of flowering, the bulbs are transferred to nutrient-rich soil in the field.
